Welcome to our 2014-2015 season! This year the Augsburg Native American Film Series will highlight Indigenous films that focus on environmental issues and climate change. Listening for the Rain: Indigenous Perspectives on Climate Change
Join filmmakers Jeffrey Palmer (Kiowa) and Filoteo Gómez Martínez (Ayuuk) for a screening and discussion of their provocative film, which documents the stories and observations of different Indigenous communities on climate change. Sonia Davila Poblete will connect these stories from the central United States to those of Indigenous Bolivians.

Fire and Ice explores the way Indigenous communities from as far apart as the Gamo Highlands of Ethiopia to the Andes of Peru protect their sacred lands from development, competing religions and climate change. Join us for this special screening and discussion with our host Dr. Cecilia Martinez, Director of Research Programs for The Center for Earth, Energy, and Democracy.

Profit and Loss documents how Native people from Papua New Guinea to the tar sands of Alberta, Canada are fighting against the loss of land, water and health to mining and oil industries. Join us for this special screening and discussion with our hosts Dr. Cecilia Martinez, Director of Research Programs for The Center for Earth, Energy, and Democracy and Tom Goldtooth, Executive Director of Indigenous Environmental Network.

March Point
Join us for a special screening of films about and by Native youth that focus on wellness and environmental issues. Our evening will begin with the short film, Mde Mka Ska Canoe Nation Gathering, by local youth producers from Migizi Communications followed by our feature documentary, March Point, a film by Swinomish youth from Washington State.
